A group of sparrows were chattering away on a tree.
Sparrow Elder asked, "Have you all seen anything interesting recently?"
Sparrow A said, "Yesterday, I saw a young couple having an argument. The wife complained that her husband never cooks, is lazy, and makes her really upset."
Sparrow Elder asked, "Was what the wife thought true?"
Sparrow A replied, "Her husband immediately went to cook without saying a word. Based on my observations, he seems to be hardworking, while the wife is actually quite lazy and avoids household chores."
Sparrow B chimed in, "I have a funny story too. A couple of days ago, I saw a father angrily scolding his child for wanting to play games instead of studying."
Sparrow Elder asked, "Was what the father thought true?"
Sparrow B answered, "From what I know, the child often studies topics of interest online and takes breaks to play games. On the other hand, the father often spends his free time on his phone, reading news and watching movies."
Sparrow C added, "My story is even more amusing. This morning, I overheard an elderly person talking on the phone, angrily blaming their relatives and accusing them of wrongdoing."
Sparrow Elder chuckled and asked, "Was what the elderly person thought true?"
Sparrow C replied, "I've been living near the elderly person for a long time. They don't treat their parents well, and they aren't friendly with their siblings. As long as someone disagrees with them, it's seen as that person's fault, and their own thoughts always seem to be right."
Sparrow Elder laughed heartily, saying, "Children, your observations are excellent! All the troubles and suffering in the world stem from delusional attachments. People cling tightly to the thoughts in their minds, causing anger and pain, not realizing that all thoughts are illusory...
