Life is like a dream & Dreams are like life

I often hear people say life is like a dream. And dreams are like life. I've never fully understood the true meaning of this statement.

Last night, I had a dream. That made me suddenly understand. In the dream, I and a group of friends went to a remote village for a visit. In the evening, everyone was very happy, toasting and laughing. Suddenly, a mudslide from the nearby mountains rushed towards us, stopped just one meter away from us. Everyone was terrified. We didn't know what to do. At this moment, the village chief called an emergency meeting and informed the villagers that the situation was under control. "Don't be afraid," he said. Someone questioned, "Why is this mudslide 10 centimeters thick?" The village chief replied, "I don't know." So the meeting adjourned, and everyone went home to rest. My friends were all very worried and decided to leave immediately. We only took food and water with us and set off in the middle of the night.

In the midst of the chaos, I suddenly woke up, terrified and disoriented, I then fell into contemplation. The dream had felt so real just now, and there was no discernible difference from reality. In the dream, there was joy and fear, but upon waking, everything vanished, and I was lying safely in bed, unharmed. So, what is the world I'm in right now? And how does it differ from a dream? When people come, they come empty-handed, and when they go, they leave empty-handed. In between, during life, we experience various complex emotions and feelings. It's only when we leave this world that we realize it was all like a dream. And nothing really happened. The real "me" is perfectly safe. At that moment, will we laugh at ourselves? During our lifetime, What were we so worrying, so afraid, and so scared of?
