A young man arrived at the riverside, watching the little fish swimming in the river with contemplation, and addressed them with a question. The little fish paused, focusing on conversing with the young man.
Young Man: Here you are, amidst the hustle and bustle, witnessing the myriad of human experiences. How are things going for you?
Little Fish: Things are going well! You see me as a play, and I see you as one too.
Young Man: What about your children and your husband?
Little Fish: The children return to the river upon birth, where Mother Nature nurtures them. As for my husband, he left after the children were born. I am by myself, leisurely and carefree, without any worries.
Young Man: Have you attained enlightenment then?
Little Fish: No, it's just that my brain cells are simple and singular; I simply can't remember things.
Suddenly, the young man noticed some pollutants floating in the water and asked again.
Young Man: Contaminants have drifted onto the river's surface here. How do you see this?
Little Fish: Originally there was nothing at all; where could dust arise to disturb?
The young man suddenly saw the light, thanked the little fish, and departed.
